CHARACTER
Name: Fuyuhiko Kuzuryuu
Source: Dangan Ronpa (Specifically it's sequel, Super Dangan Ronpa 2: Farewell Despair Academy)
History: (Sections of this were taken fromtooled with their permission.)
Fuyuhiko was born into one of the most infamous families known in Japan- the Kuzuryuu family, which was basically one of the biggest yakuza (Japanese Mafia) group/family that practically ran parts of the streets in Japan, and Fuyuhiko was next in line to become head of the family business. However, seeing as how he was an important figure to the family, they assigned him a bodyguard, otherwise known as Peko Pekoyama, and it was seen in pictures that the two had always been around one another, being inseparable as a pair.
Even when he was invited to be apart of Hope's Academy, a High School full of only the most talented in a specific area. In his case, Fuyuhiko was named as "Super High School Level Gangster", and Peko had tagged along with him, earning the title of "Super High School Level Swordswoman". But a terrible incident happened at the school, a student whose brains were tampered with to give him more talent just completely snapped and killed a near dozen of the other students. The higher ups tried to cover the story up, but one particular student, Junko Enoshima, took it as her cue to start spreading the news and shock everyone. After all, there was one thing that girl liked more than anything: despair. In the chaos that followed she took the opportunity to talk to various students in the school and practically brainwash (she's really, really good with words and all that) them into following her, making them her group called 'Super High School Level Despair'. Among these students were also Fuyuhiko and Peko. Junko caused the incident to spiral into something bigger and bigger that eventually even took over the whole world, causing despair everywhere: people killing each other, rioting, all that kind of stuff. And her group of SHSL Despair of course helped her with it. The game stated they killed people for her, offered their own families to her so she could kill them, all admired her and practically wanted to have babies with her - they had just completely turned crazy after Junko practically brainwashed them.
But there was a small group fighting against all of that. After Junko was killed (during the events of Dangan Ronpa 1, which I'll skip over here), that group, the survivors of the murder game in DR1, managed to capture the group of SHSL Despair students. They decided that the only way to return them to their original selves and get them out of their near-brainwashed state was to subject them to a virtual reality simulation. All of them were put to sleep and instead lived in the simulation - a simulation of a school trip on an island where they were all told to become friends with each other and have fun after their memories of the time ever since they became SHSL Despair were taken from them. The group thought that this kind of 'hope' was the only thing that could combat the 'despair' that Junko had put into the students.
But it went wrong. Junko had infected the simulation as a bug, a virus, and she immediately started to spread despair again. Her avatar, Monobear, told the students that a murder game was going on now. He told them that the only way to leave the island they were on was to kill another one of their students and get away with it - after each murder a 'trial' would be held to see if the rest of the students could figure out who the culprit was. And if the culprit would be found out, they wouldn't be able to leave the island but would instead get killed themselves. If the students, on the other hand, couldn't find out the culprit they would all be killed instead and the real culprit would be able to leave the island. Of course none of the students knew that all of it was a useless effort either way, they weren't really on an island so there was nowhere to get away from, but without their memories they were clueless about it.
Fuyuhiko and Peko were both in the simulation as well, even though they pretended like they didn't know each other in front of the others so they'd have an ace up their sleeve. After the first murder of the school trial had occurred, Fuyuhiko had given orders to Peko to kill someone for him so that he could get away as the culprit, leaving him free to leave the island. However, as soon as the school trial had started for the murder of Mahiru Koizumi (the girl that Peko had killed), the other students were already figuring out that Peko was the murderer. But that was the intention- to let the blame fall on her to reveal Fuyuhiko as the true culprit. But he couldn't bring himself to do such- because he saw that, either way, Peko would die for what he had done, and in the end, he didn't want her to think of herself as a mere tool to him, but he wanted there to be something more. So, as Peko was being executed, Fuyuhiko had brought it upon himself to save Peko from the execution, even if she was already faring well. In the middle of it, Peko had slashed Fuyuhiko across the eye, which eventually caused her to be executed as he held his body, to shield him from the execution.
Afterwards, Fuyuhiko had to be treated for his wounds, and got an eye patch to cover up the scar that he had gained from the execution. Afterwards, he apologized to the group for what he had done, and in the process, he had almost committed sepuku (Japanese Honorable Suicide), cutting his own stomach open in front of everyone, which he had to be treated for once more, putting him out of commission for a while.
In the end, him and four other students had confronted the Junko virus, with the reveal that they had been part of "Super High School Level Despair", and if they were let out of this simulation, they would revert to being the horrible killers that they once were, thus bringing great dismay to the group. However, Hinata, one of the survivors of this incident, had told everyone not to give up hope, and to Kuzuryuu, he had the flashing image of Peko, which gave him strength to carry on and not believe he'll turn into what he once was back then. And thus, with the help of the previous survivors of the events of DR1, Fuyuhiko had survived the simulation, becoming a better person in the end of it all.
Personality: At the beginning of Super Dangan Ronpa 2, when Fuyuhiko is introduced, he comes off as cold, rude, and very violent. Because he's Super High School Level Gangster, he carries himself as a "Lone-wolf" person, refusing to speak with any of the other students, believing them all to be "idiots", and to be below him. However, when he does actually have the opportunity to talk to someone else, he becomes combative and irritable, often quick to anger, threatening/insulting them when they don't agree with anything that he says. At the end of sentences, he will often end them with boke (a Japanese term that is also used for the words "idiot", "shit head" or "dumbass").
However, all of this may not be true. In Chapter 1, when the students were throwing a party, he had come around to see what was going on, only to be confronted by another student asking him if he wanted to join, which he reacted to suddenly and left afterwards. It could be said that Fuyuhiko does want to be involved with the activities, but because of his background as a Yakuza heir, he feels that it's important to keep up that image of himself being a "lone-wolf", and not speaking to others because of it.
But after the events of Chapter 2, it is shown that Fuyuhiko's attitude has actually changed quite a bit. He's still quite irritable, but it's shown that he's not as stand-off'ish as he used to be, now talking to the other students out of remorse for his own actions and words. As is the case, he's shown to actually have other emotions, often showing signs of happiness whenever someone agrees with him, or become flustered whenever he receives a compliment due to his abilities, often denying them.
One thing about Fuyuhiko that should be known is that he would react violently if called "babyfaced". It's due to his nature of being a Yakuza heir, as one would expect a Yakuza boss to be rough, and well built- but Fuyuhiko is the opposite of that. Because of this, he states that he wants to become stronger, not wanting to rely on his family's power to get him by in life. His goal is to actually lead his family because he is the strong one- and not because his family is strong themselves.
One person he's able to show his emotions to more clearly then any of the other students would be to Peko, as the two are close to one-another. When Peko is around, he's able to smile a lot more, and become more enthusiastic about things. But he can't exactly let others see that, so when in the presence of others, he becomes more cold towards the girl, even faulting her to a point. But that's where it ends- when in fact, he actually carries deeper feelings for her, and would rather see her happy more then anything, thus showing that he actually does carry a rather compassionate side towards him.
Another thing about the boy is that he's known for actually rejecting any compliments that he has received, often being flustered in the process. Because of his status as a Yakuza heir, he doesn't want to seem weak to others, so if he were to receive anything, he'll immediately deny the allegations and go off to become closed off from then on, throwing out any insults he can think of to bring out the ideas that had come out of the said person that complimented him.
Oh, and he's stubborn to a fault, refusing to listen to others for he believes he's practically right all of the time, again, thinking that everyone is below him. And he's not afraid to let up on is ideals either- if he thinks something is right, he thinks it till the end, no matter what anyone will really say to him on the matter.
In the end, Kuzuryuu has lightened up, but his violent tendencies, his lone wolf status, and his flustered anger are sure to appear whenever he is spoken to.
Biggest Fear: Not becoming strong enough to actually lead the Kuzuryuu family, and losing Peko.
Powers:Fuyuhiko doesn't have any special powers to be noted of.

Third Person:
What had he done...? He was sitting in bed, staring at a wall. After the events that had happened the day before, he was still in denial about everything that had happened. Peko...his bodyguard...had died. She had sacrificed herself for him, just so he could get away from this stupid island and that dumb bear. But something inside of him told him something else that he couldn't get away from...
...she's dead. She's not coming back. And it was all because of him.
It's been sitting in his mind for quite a while, ever since he was left in this room, recovering from that wound that been inflicted across his eye. This wound...it also served as a reminder for that day. Something he couldn't stop from happening...and something that he so wholly regrets. And now, after being in this care room...he wouldn't even know where to begin to apologize to the other students. It's something he has to deal with on his own now...without having his bodyguard by his side...
His was gripping the sheets on his bed tightly, as if holding unto something dearly to him. Tears began to form in his only usable eye, seeing them fall unto the sheets like this...he's weak. He's too weak to even protect his own bodyguard...what was he to do now, sit here and become weaker in the process? No, the only thing he could do know was become stronger...and show to the others that he isn't so weak in the first place. He's strong deep down inside and he knows it...
"Tch...I'll show them. I'll show them that Fuyuhiko Kuzuryuu isn't some cry baby, I'll become stronger then they had expected me to..." He murmured under his breath, those tears still falling from his eyes, his fist now pounding on the bed. "You'll see, Peko...I'll become stronger for you. I'll show you that I didn't need a "tool" in the first place." He finally stopped the water works flowing from his eyes, looking out of the window to see the sun. It's true...he didn't want her as a tool in the first place. He wanted her as something more then that...but it was too late for that right now.
After a bit of time staring, he looked up into the ceiling, murmuring some more. "...I'm sorry. I'm sorry I couldn't have told you sooner. If I had become strong enough, none of this would have happened...and we could have gotten out of this place sooner. It's all because of me." He let out a mournful sigh, looking off to the side. "What the hell am I saying...? Nah, it can't be helped. If any of those assholes came in here while I was like this, then my image would have been ruined..." He's still holding unto that image of being tough so very dearly.
"...tch. Guess I have to apologize to everyone after I'm done in this here prison cell." Of course, it's what he refers to the room, after all. Not that he didn't mind being in here...it's just. Well, he really did want to apologize and atone for what he had done. "...yeah. Maybe I'll become stronger like that. They'll see that I've become a new person...and...well, I guess a bit nicer wouldn't kill me either." Even though his expression had changed into one of visible anger. "I'm going to hate this..."

[Dammit, he had to speak to these guys again. Not that it had become a chore, it's just...well, he's pretty sure he'll become violent if one of them actually objects to what he has to say. Whatever, he's going to go for it anyways and hope no one really calls him out on it.]
...hey. Can one of you lead me to where the library is around here?
[Yeah that was one of the more awkward things he could probably say. Not that he doesn't find it weird in the first place...people would probably think of him as a freak for coming out and saying something like this in the first place.]
And before you go and say some dumb-ass shit like "oh, you've been here-" cut that out. You know it's better to groups in the first place, so don't tell me to go alone.
[That, and he's afraid to admit that he hates being alone in this dump in the first place.]
...so, what, you guys gonna lead me or what? I swear, if one of you actually doesn't listen to this message, I'm going to go over there and beat you senseless. How about that- my library time for your life, sounds fair? And you try and talk to me once on the way over there, I'll have your throat sliced out. So don't try anything funny, got it?
[He's already putting up that macho man disguise in front...despite his timid appearance in the first place.]
Heh, I'll be waiting for your answers. C'mon, don't leave me hanging if you value your life...and don't think anything more of me wanting to read simple books, alright?! I just need to learn some stuff, that's all.
[And he's practically flashing that little grin of his. Someone help him...]
Notes: Because the Kuzuryuu that appears in Super Dangan Ronpa 2 is what he was like before he joined Super High School Despair, and how he shows up in the simulator, that's how he's going to appear in the apartments.
